Welcome to the ItaloWorld Meetups, an integral part of the Da Vinci Learning Centre's mission to celebrate and explore the rich tapestry of Italian culture. These Meetup events, held every Saturday from 2.00pm to 5.30pm, offer a unique and vibrant platform for all. Language and culture enthusiasts, learners enrolled in Da Vinci language and/or culture classes, to members of the Italo Voices, all immerse themselves in Italian culture and language. Our gatherings are more than just social gatherings; they are celebrations of Italian heritage, designed to foster community, share knowledge, and practice real-life language skills.
At ItaloWorld Meetup, we believe in the power of community and shared experiences. Our events, held every Saturday at the Broadbeach Library followed by a social gathering at The Patio, Pacific Fair, are open to everyone, regardless of their Italian culture or language skills. Please note that there is plenty of free parking. We strive to create an inclusive environment where individuals can connect, learn, and grow in their appreciation of Italy. Our Meetup themes are as diverse as Italian culture itself. From historical explorations like "Roman Revelry Night" to scenic adventures in "Alpine Adventure: Exploring the Dolomites", each event is curated to delve into different aspects of Italian life. The themes for 2024 promise to be equally captivating, with plans for events like “Venetian Dreams: Canals, Carnival, and Cuisine” and “Sicilian Splendour: From Palermo to Taormina”. These gatherings are not just informative and fun but are designed to satisfy the varied interests of our attendees and we are always open for suggestions and volunteers wishing to organise special events.
We are expanding our offerings in early 2024, with the introduction of a bilingual Toastmasters club, enhancing the educational aspect of our Meetups. This initiative will provide a platform for attendees to practice presentation skills in a bilingual environment, furthering their language proficiency and cultural understanding. Our Meetups are a journey through Italian language and culture, where every event is an opportunity to unwrap the wonders of Italy.
